SBLI Exposes Youth to Health Professions = Diverse Health Leaders
The Spring Branch Leadership Institute is supported by the Spring Branch Community Health Center a nonprofit 501 (c) corporation that has been designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center(FQHC). The health center understands that our healthcare system lacks diversity among health professionals. A workforce of providers that lack cultural competencies to serve the community creates a challenge and negatively impacts patient outcomes. Through this summer camp, youth participants from diverse backgrounds and cultures will be encouraged to explore health professions. This experience will provide them with the necessary education and tools to help them choose the right pathway for these careers in the health industry.
About The Institute
The Spring Branch Leadership Institute (SBLI) was established in May 2021 to encourage high school students to pursue careers in the health industry.
SBLI's vision is to develop young leaders who understand the impact of health disparities in our communities and to teach them how to contribute to health transformation in their own neighborhoods.
